Scientific collaboration between Societ\u00e0 Italiana di Urologia<\/a> and Health Triage<\/a> for the “Virtual Biopsy (MRI V-Bio)” Project.

Rome, 24 May 2024 \u2013 The Italian Society of Urology (SIU) and the innovative start-up Health Triage Srl (HT) enthusiastically announce the start of a collaboration for the implementation of the project that could contribute to significantly improving the diagnosis of prostate cancer, the “Virtual Biopsy (MRI V-Bio)”.

This project aims, among other things, to develop a software medical device, based on Artificial Intelligence models. This technology – says Prof. Giuseppe Carrieri, president of the SIU – will aim to provide important and precise clinical information by processing Magnetic Resonance images. The main purpose will be to reduce tissue biopsies by replacing them with a much less invasive virtual examination.

The technology will be able to classify the possible presence of cancer and determine its degree of aggressiveness. The main objective will be to provide the urologist with various detailed information to deal with the choice of therapy with greater precision.

The technology developed in collaboration with the Candiolo Cancer Institute IRCCS and the University of Turin has been patented in several countries around the world.

The Italian Society of Urology and Health Triage is collaborating, with the aim of organizing and managing an international clinical trial directed by an all-Italian equipe.

This project marks an important step of absolute innovation in the diagnosis of prostate cancer diseases, combining the clinical experience of excellence of the SIU with the advanced technology of HT.
