Artificial Intelligence is entering the core of organized mammographic screening. In La Repubblica<\/em>, within the Health special section, Dr. Francesca Caumo, Vice President of GISMa (Italian Group for Mammographic Screening), discusses the challenges and opportunities related to integrating new technologies into prevention pathways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the center is the large prospective multicenter study, Breast AI, born from the collaboration between GISMa and Health Triage, aimed at validating AI solutions capable of supporting radiologists in managing diagnostic workflows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the need for a rigorous, scientifically guided approach, Dr. Caumo stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is essential that scientific societies supervise these projects, because Artificial Intelligence is not simply a technology: it is a clinical tool that enters decision-making processes and can influence patients\u2019 care pathways. For this reason, it must be validated with methodological rigor and appropriately integrated into screening programs.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
