In breast cancer screening programs, for example, <strong>more than 90% of exams show no signs of cancer<\/strong>. This figure highlights the potential of artificial intelligence in supporting <strong>diagnostic triage<\/strong>, reducing the burden on radiologists and improving priority management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is precisely on this principle that several AI solutions applied to <strong>medical imaging<\/strong> are being developed, with the goal of optimizing clinical workflows and making large-scale screening programs sustainable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While this approach is already at an advanced stage in oncology, the real challenge will be extending it to other high-volume settings \u2014 such as <strong>cardiovascular diagnostics<\/strong> \u2014 while maintaining comparable standards of <strong>reliability and integration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The question, therefore, is no longer whether artificial intelligence works. Up to <strong>2 projects<\/strong> may be funded, with a maximum EU contribution of <strong>\u20ac4.5 million per project<\/strong> and a co-financing rate of <strong>50%<\/strong>, as indicated in the official Digital Europe programme documentation.
