Monday, June 29, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM, the Romantic Hotel Furno in San Francesco al Campo will host the institutional conference “Artificial Intelligence: from radiology to global scenarios”, organized by the Centro Diagnostico Studio Futura of Ciriè and by Health Triage, under the patronage of Confindustria Canavese.
The event was born to address an increasingly urgent need: governing the digital transition in healthcare. Over the last ten years, the demand for diagnostic services has grown significantly, with an estimated increase of 60% for MRI scans alone. This growth is driven by an ageing population, the rise of chronic diseases and advances in oncology, all requiring ever more frequent check-ups. The result is a system under pressure, with hospitals and private facilities struggling with increasingly long waiting lists. In this scenario, Artificial Intelligence is emerging as a decisive ally: it supports radiologists in image reading, speeds up workflows, reduces examination times and helps filter inappropriate requests. These premises will set the stage for a dialogue between institutions, clinicians and academia.
The conference will open with institutional greetings from Claudia Porchietto (Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Piedmont Region), Federico Riboldi (Regional Councillor for Health, Piedmont), Loredana Devietti Goggia (Mayor of Ciriè) and Filippo Molinari (Deputy Rector for Strategic Planning, Politecnico di Torino).
The multidisciplinary panel will explore the key drivers of innovation:
- Gino Carnazza (specialist in radiodiagnostics) will address the human-machine synergy. Thanks to deep learning systems, AI acts as a digital assistant capable of identifying complex lesions at an early stage, optimising clinical workflows and freeing up quality time for patient care.
- Daniele Regge (radiologist at the Candiolo Institute, FPO-IRCCS) will explore the concept of the “radiology of the future” and the development of patient “digital twins”. These virtual models will make it possible to understand disease progression and personalise therapies, placing the radiologist at the centre of clinical data management.
- Giovanna Marzo (Associate Professor of Private Law, cassation lawyer, President of Auxilia Iuris) will analyse the legal risks of AI in healthcare, examining algorithmic autonomy and the difficulty of attributing liability. After reviewing the European regulatory framework, she will assess whether traditional legal categories are still adequate or whether AI requires a revision of protective tools, balancing innovation, rights and the principle of legitimate expectation.
- Riccardo Zecchina (Professor of Theoretical Physics, Director of the AI Lab at Bocconi University) will close the debate by exploring generative AI, where text, images and sound converge towards a representation of the world capable of integrating robotics as a concrete new promise for advanced diagnostics.
“Health Triage’s participation in this regional dialogue” — states Davide Dettori, CEO of the company — “confirms our commitment to contributing to the local debate on new healthcare technologies. Born and rooted in Turin, we intend to bring our contribution to foster a dialogue in which technology is seen as the doctor’s ally, for a more human, effective and rigorously ethical precision medicine.”
“Our experience in integrating advanced diagnostic systems confirms Studio Futura’s commitment to strengthening the effectiveness of clinical radiology,” underlines Dr. Gino Carnazza, Medical Coordinator of the Centro Radiodiagnostico Studio Futura in Ciriè. “For years we have combined specialist expertise with artificial intelligence tools for mammography, chest X-ray and gynaecological diagnostics, with the aim of detecting lesions and formations that are difficult to identify with the human eye alone. This approach also involves the facility’s main equipment, from the Dual Energy CT to MRI, increasingly oriented towards improving the reliability and quality of examinations. Technology thus proves to be an essential ally for more precise and timely medicine.”
At the end of the presentations, the discussion will continue by analysing how the integration of these systems can reduce clinical research timelines and overcome the limitations of traditional screening. The presence in Piedmont of centres of excellence in independent clinical research and cutting-edge technology companies confirms the region’s potential as a permanent laboratory for the digital healthcare of the future.
